Located about two and a half miles inland from Perranporth, the setting for Winston Graham's Poldark novels set in 1930s Perranporth, the small Cornish settlement of Goonhavern is ideally situated. Goonhavern is a bustling neighbourhood featuring a historic inn, a general store, a garden centre, and a playground for kids.
The community, once recognised for producing the best tin, still has remnants of its rich history, such as abandoned pump houses, mine shafts, and workers' cottages to show for it. At low tide, Perranporth's three-mile-long sandy beach is surrounded by rugged rocks that are ideal for rock pooling.
